Timothy R. McKorkle

Timothy R. McKorkle, known affectionately to friends and family as Tim, departed this life on February 6, 2024, in Flagstaff, AZ, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. Born on September 27, 1967, in Columbia, MO, Tim and his twin brother Jim spent their early years in Gillespie, IL, while being raised by their grandparents.
Tim spent seven fruitful years working for Mueller Water Products in Decatur, IL, before taking to the open road as a truck driver for R and L Carriers in Wilmington, Ohio, over the last three years. Tim was known as a hard worker and was rarely idle.
Affectionately regarded as a people person and animal lover, Tim was renowned for his loving and giving nature, always ready to lend a helping hand. His frankness and sincerity, devoid of any filter, made him a man whose thoughts were never a mystery. The love story between Tim and Lisa was one for the ages, and together they built a life filled with beauty and companionship.
A man of profound faith, Tim spoke often of his love for God, a testament of his spiritual compass that guided him through life. His grandchildren were the light of his existence, and he cherished every moment spent creating memories with them at his cherished riverside home. Canine companions past and present—Neil, Bug, Bailey, Lucy, and Jesse—along with feline friends Oliver and Felicia, brought great joy to his life.
Tim is survived by his devoted wife, Lisa (Coventry) McKorkle of Gerald, MO, who became his partner in all adventures on February 16, 2012, and together, they created a wonderful life along the Bourbeuse River. His legacy continues through his six children: William (and wife Nicole) of Daphne, Alabama, Nick (and wife Cassie) of Gillespie, IL, Jennifer of St. Clair, MO, Ryan of Sullivan, MO, Ashley (and husband Andrew) Gerber of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Blake Goodwin (and fiancée, Ashley Hopper) of Cuba, MO. His life was further blessed with eight grandchildren: Henry, Ava, and Nolan McKorkle; Kaydin, Dawson, and Taylor Lafferty; Lance Gerber; Seth Goodwin; and the joyous expectation of two more.
Remembering him with love are his mother, Terri Schaffer; his twin brother, Jim McKorkle of Columbia, MO; and family friend, Larry McBride of Cuba, MO. Tim's presence will also be missed by his numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends who were like extended family to him. Preceding him in passing were his dear granddaughter Lillian Grace, his grandparents, and great-grandpa, Bill Menke.
A Celebration of Tim’s Life will be held at 12:00 PM, Thursday, February 15, 2024, at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
