Thelma L. Kramer, 92, of Sullivan, Missouri passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Meramec Nursing Center surrounded by her loving family.

Thelma Lee Kramer was born on June 23, 1931, in Dixon, MO, to George Oscar and Myra (Davis) Wagner. Thelma spent her early childhood in Dixon before moving to Saint Louis for her education. It was here that she met her future husband, Clinton Gene Kramer. The two were united in marriage on June 25, 1948, and spent the initial years of their union traveling together. In 1955, they started their family, welcoming their first child, Clinton Jr. After Gene’s discharge from the United States Army, they relocated back to Saint Louis and welcomed three more children: Kimberly, Shelly, and Debby. Thelma remained a stay-at-home mother and dedicated her time and energy to raising their children.

In 1969, the family moved to Sullivan, MO where Thelma joined the Sullivan School District, and served as a kitchen supervisor for nearly 30 years. Her dedication and hard work were appreciated by all who knew her, and she left a lasting impact on the community.

Thelma had a love for travel, often journeying across the west with Gene, and made several memorable trips to Hawaii. A talented seamstress and quilter, Thelma's creations were cherished by all who were fortunate enough to receive them. Her love for baking was well-known, and she often sold cakes for various occasions. Thelma was a gifted cook and loved hosting family gatherings, where she delighted in spending time with her grandchildren.

Thelma was a devoted mother and wife. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did.

Thelma and Gene were faithful members of Calvary Baptist Church in Bourbon until their health hindered them from being able to attend. She will be so dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

Thelma is survived by her three wonderful children: Clinton E. Kramer, Jr. & wife, Sharla, of Sullivan, MO, Shelly Kramer of St. Clair, MO, and Debby Breeden & husband, Brice, of Sullivan, MO; seven grandchildren: Eric Kramer of Potosi, MO, Duane Kramer of Rolla, MO, Eugene Kramer & wife, Krystle, of Washington, MO, Garrett Luecke & significant other, Natasha Matthews, of Fenton, MO, Daven Ledbetter & husband, Nick, of Sullivan, MO, Stacey DeWeese & husband, Justin, of St. Clair, MO, and Jacob Schoeneman of Washington, MO; 16 great-grandchildren: Makayla, Tyler, Maddison, Mya, Lincoln, Logan, Skylynn, William, Katherine, Emma, Morgan, Josephine, Drew, Zoey, Mason, and Miles; 3 great-great-grandchildren, Rayden, Ryot and Lenny; a brother, Rick Wagner of Granite City, IL; a sister, Shirley Rippy of Granite City, IL; a brother in law, Keith Kramer of Pontoon, IL; two sisters in law, Beulah Miller of Caseyville, IL, and Mary Lee Laird & husband, Boice, of Sullivan, MO; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene; a daughter, Kimberly Kramer; a grandson, Matthew Schoeneman; her parents, Oscar and Myra Wagner; a brother, George Wagner; a sister, Brenda Raines; three brothers in law, Layman and Calvin Kramer and PJoe Miller; and two sisters in law, Gladys Dicus and Sara Tyner.

Funeral Service will be 12 PM, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO with Pastor Ed Carter officiating. Interment will follow at the Bourbon Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10:30 – 12 PM, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Eaton Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
