Tami Ellen Gibbs, 48, of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.

Tami was born on December 31, 1972 in Omaha, Nebraska, to Larry & Joan (Fowler) Bratsveen. She grew up attending school in the Bourbon area, prior to moving to Wellington, Kansas, where she graduated with the Wellington High School class of 1992. After graduation, she returned to Missouri and began attending dental hygienist classes at East Central College in Union.

Tami met Eugene Gresty in 1994 and together they were blessed with a daughter, Hannah. A few years later, Tami met David Gibbs and they were united in marriage in 1998. They were blessed with a daughter, Molly. Sadly, the two of them were later divorced.

Tami raised her two girls as a single mom for many years. She was a loving mother who cherished her daughters and supported them no matter what.

In 2013, Tami met James Hart. Together they enjoyed going for drives, looking at the river, and window shopping. It always touched Tami’s heart that James was never embarrassed to hold her hand, even while grocery shopping.

She also enjoyed simply spending time at home, playing on her laptop, watching horror movies with Molly, and spending time with her grandkids and her cat, Chrissy. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by many.

Tami is survived by her two daughters, Hannah Bratsveen of Potosi, MO, and Molly Gibbs of Union, MO; her fiancé, James Hart, of Sullivan, MO; a sister, Tricia Beasely and husband, Travis, of Hinton, OK; her mother, Joan; a brother, John Bratsveen of Union, MO; two grandchildren, Jackson & Paisley; three nephews: Jacob, Aiden & Jonathan; a niece, Jessica; two great-nephews: Alex & Jullian and another one on the way; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Larry.

Arrangements for cremation have taken place.  A Memorial Service was held 12 p.m., Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Pastor Lou Ensor officiating.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Friday, prior to the service at Eaton Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society.
