Susan D. Hoeing, 69, of Rosebud, MO, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 29, 1954, in Sullivan, MO, Susan was a pillar of strength, creativity, and selflessness throughout her life.

Susan grew up in Sullivan and was a proud graduate of Sullivan High School in 1972. After high school, she worked various local jobs at Zephyr Truck Stop and the Sullivan Independent. In 1975, she married the love of her life, Ronald Hoeing, and together they were blessed with two children. Susan was a devoted military wife for 24 years, supporting her husband while he proudly served in the US Navy. Their journey took them across the nation, creating a lifetime of memories.

While raising their children, Susan remained at home, pouring her love and energy into her family. She was a phenomenal homemaker, a great cook, and had a special love for children. This love led her to operate a daycare out of their family home while living in Streator, IL. Susan's nurturing nature and creative talents were evident in everything she did, from her cooking to her love for sewing, painting ceramics, and knitting. She often gifted her beautiful creations, spreading warmth and joy to those around her.

Susan was an adventurous spirit who loved family vacations. Some of her favorite memories were trips to the Grand Canyon, fishing on the Imperial Pier, visiting Mount Rushmore, and exploring the Smoky Mountains. She also enjoyed going to the gun range, a testament to her adventurous spirit.

Susan is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Hoeing of Rosebud, MO; her two children, Christopher Hoeing of Oregon and Wendy Denecke of Lake Geneva, WI; four grandchildren, Kristin Hoeing of Gerald, MO, Katelynn James and husband Michael of Lake Geneva, WI, Derek Denecke of Chicago, IL and Kyle Denecke of Lake Geneva, WI; and her three siblings, Chuck Stroup of Sullivan, MO, Angela Koepke and husband Gary of Gerald, MO, and Anita Sumpter of Gray Summit. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and her four beloved pups: Alvin, Abby, Kera, and Axl.

Susan was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia, her maternal and paternal grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.

Arrangements for cremation have taken place. No services are planned at this time.
