Sue A. Blanton, 83, of Sullivan, MO, passed away peacefully, due to sepsis and a host of other difficulties, on Thursday, February 18, 2020, at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital – Fenton. 

Sue Ann Wiese Blanton was born April 3, 1937, to Berniece Washington and Floris Ellen (Bell) Wiese. Sue was united in marriage to Orville Lewis Blanton, Jr. on December 1, 1956. To their union two children were born, Douglas and Deborah. On Orville and Sue’s 23rd Wedding Anniversary, their daughter, Debbie, was united in marriage to her husband, Steve, and wore her mother’s wedding gown. Sue was a lifetime Pentecostal and she accepted the Lord Jesus as her Savior at age seven.

Sue is survived by her two children, Douglas Blanton and wife, Patricia, of Sullivan, and Debbie Betke and husband, Steve, of Sullivan; her grandchildren: Jonathan and Hannah Williams of Maryland, Hannah Betke of Sullivan, and Abi and John Pipkin of Lake St. Louis; one older brother, Dennis Wiese, of Sullivan; sister-in-law, Chickie Pinnell, of Sullivan; and many loving close cousins, other family members and cherished friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville; her parents, Berniece and Floris Wiese; her parents-in-law, Orville Lewis Sr. and Irene Matilda (Terry) Blanton; one brother-in-law, Wesley Blanton; and one sister-in-law, LaVerne Gildehaus. 

Sue will be buried next to Orville in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery – St. Louis. There will be no visitation or funeral service.
