Stanley Bell

Stanley Lee Bell, 90, of Sullivan, MO, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 1, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Stanley was born November 13, 1930 in Japan, MO, to the late John Thomas and Anna Marie (Halmich) Bell. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from January 30, 1952 – January 6, 1954. He served in Augsburg, Germany, in the Seventh Army General Headquarters, Signal Corps, during the Korean War.
For seven years, Stanley was employed by Ramco Corp in Sullivan and retired from McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, MO, after 35 years of service. Stanley was united in marriage to Lola Mae (Stephens) Jones on October 26, 1973, and together they blended their families.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Lola Bell of Sullivan, MO; five children: Diane Wood of Lanesville, IN, Nancy Frazier and husband Eddy of Borden, IN, Annalisa Woodrow and husband Woodrow of Long Beach, MS, William Jones and wife Donna of Robertsville, MO, and Rebecca Blum and husband Dan of Sullivan, MO; daughter-in-law, Jan Tucker of Union, MO; fourteen grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Lance Stanley Bell and Robert Jones; granddaughter, Tagna Feld; his parents, John Thomas and Anna Marie Bell; five brothers: Orville, Olin, Maurice, Donald and Dean Bell; and four sisters: Madge Key, Alma Biehl, Opal Bolland and Norma Jagusch.
Stanley wished to leave everyone with these words, “I have had a good life, with minor problems with which God helped me overcome. God has always taken very good care of me. He has given me far more than I have needed. So, don’t grieve over me, as I will be in a far better place, living in a mansion, enjoying myself and looking forward to the day you come join me. This is my way of trying to help a little bit, so bury my shell and enjoy the rest of your life – Stanley Bell.”
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Meramec Valley Baptist Church in Bourbon, with Pastor Erik Williams officiating. Interment, will full military honors, followed in Crow Cemetery – Sullivan.
Visitation was held from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
