Sister Linda K. Cox

Sister Linda Kay Cox, a loving and generous soul, was born on July 11, 1956, in Rolla, Missouri. She passed away at the age of 66 on June 2, 2023, in St. Louis, Missouri. Sister Linda was known for her faith-filled life and unwavering kindness, always putting others before herself.

Sister Linda graduated from Bland High School and went on to become a nurse's assistant at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, MO. Her passion for caregiving extended beyond her professional life, as she also ministered in Home Health Care. Sister Linda's compassionate nature and desire to help others led her to join the Religious community of Sisters for Christian Community in 1983, where she served as a devoted member until her death.

In addition to her work in healthcare, Sister Linda was employed at St. Joan of Arc School in St. Louis, MO, where she cared for and educated children aged 3 to 5 in the daycare program. Her gentle and nurturing spirit made her a beloved figure in the lives of the young children she worked with.

With a heart full of love and generosity, Sister Linda's interests were centered around her relationships with others. She enjoyed shopping for antiques and cherished her weekly outings with friends. Linda had a unique ability to bring joy to others, often surprising her friends with thoughtful gifts. She took great pleasure in seeing the sparkle in their eyes when they received her unexpected tokens of love and friendship. Sister Linda's generous nature and warm heart made her a cherished friend to many. Sister Linda was always up for indulging in chocolate chip cookies, brownies, or even a "Big Mac." Her presence brought joy to those around her, and her laughter was infectious. Linda's life was enriched by the precious friends she made throughout her journey.

One of Sister Linda's greatest passions was her collection of antiques. Her pride and joy, she treated each piece with love, care, and gentleness. Always eager to share her latest finds, Sister Linda could often be found showing off her newest acquisitions to friends and fellow collectors.

With a keen sense of humor, Sister Linda was known to be funny when she wanted to be, often bringing laughter and lightness to any situation. Her ability to find humor in life's challenges was a testament to her resilient spirit and a source of inspiration to those who knew her.

Throughout her life, Sister Linda's loving, faith-filled, and kind nature touched the lives of countless individuals. Her legacy of compassion, generosity, and laughter will be remembered and cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

In celebration of Sister Linda Kay Cox's life, let us remember her as an embodiment of love, generosity, and faith. May her spirit continue to inspire and guide us, and may her memory be a reminder of the power of kindness and compassion.

Linda is survived by her mother, Evelyn (Woemmel) Schalk of Bland, Missouri; three brothers, David Daniels and wife Rhonda, Jimmy Daniels, and Jack Daniels, all of Bland, Missouri; two nephews, David Daniels and his wife Cori of Bland, MO, and Adam Daniels and his wife Ashley of Owensville, MO; great nieces; Emma, Bella, and Bree all of Owensville, MO, and Alison and Camri of Bland, MO, other relatives, and a multitude of friends who will dearly miss her.

Linda was also survived by her dearest friend and soulmate, whom she lived with, prayed with, and shared life with for 23 years, Sister Joann Kuchler.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Daniels, and her sister in community, Sister Dorothy Lauberth.

In her total generosity to humanity, Sister Linda gifted her body to St. Louis University for research.

A Memorial Mass will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 15, 2023 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Sullivan with Father Paul Telken celebrating.

Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 15, 2023, prior to the mass at St Anthony Catholic Church.

Memorials may be given for masses in memory of Sister Linda Cox.
