Shirley Mae (Antle) Vieman, 86, transitioned to her heavenly home, Saturday, March 6, 2021.

Shirley Mae was born in Sullivan, MO, January 3, 1935, to Paul Wesley and Mae Suzanne (Baugher) Antle. Her father, Paul, was the minister of the Methodist Church. She was the first baby born in Sullivan to a minister of that church.

Shirley moved with her family to Colorado and lived in Colorado Springs and Pueblo. She was on the rifle team in high school, and earned the title, “Expert Marksman.” Shirley graduated with honors from Pueblo High School in 1953.

Shirley married John Dow Vieman, of Bourbon, MO, on June 20, 1962. They raised three children together: Kathy, Diane and Brian. Kathy was born from a previous marriage. They raised their family primarily in Texas and Missouri.

Shirley worked as a Bookkeeper, Realtor and Farmer. She and John raised cattle and put in crops of corn, soybeans and hay. She had a huge garden and loved canning vegetables. She also loved sewing, fishing and traveling. She was very involved with her children’s school activities, as well as being Cub Master for Troop 22 in Owensville for many years. In addition, Shirley enjoyed being a member of Eastern Star in Sullivan.

Shirley was devoted to her family. She took care of her parents in their later years, all while being a wife and mother to John and their three children. She lived to enhance her families lives and support their interests. She was the ultimate caregiver for those she loved.

Shirley was a Christian who studied the word of God on a daily basis. She was always happy, and credits Bible Doctrine and her relationship with Jesus Christ as the reason.

Shirley is survived by her husband, John Vieman, of Owensville, MO; two daughters and one son, Kathy Rasmussen of Arlington, TX, Diane Hartman and her husband, David, of Hermann, MO, and Brian Vieman and partner, Donna Bates, of Owensville, MO; three grandchildren: Amber Zeugin and her husband, Ken, of Owensville, MO, Trevor Hartman and Tyler Hartman, both of Hermann, MO; one brother, Robert Antle and his wife, Lynn, of Pueblo, CO; and many other beloved relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mae Antle; and three brothers: Don, Bill and Jim Antle.

A Memorial Service was held 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. Eastern Star Services began at 4:30 p.m.
