Ruth Ann Stack

Ruth Ann Stack, 74, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan.

Ruth Ann was born January 28, 1947 in St. Louis, MO, to Robert and Ruth (Muldrow) Johnson. She grew up and attended school in Sullivan and graduated from Sullivan High School, class of 1965. Ruth Ann married Donald Stack on August 31, 1963 and together they had three children: Dean, Rodney and Sherri. In 1970, they settled in Stanton to raise their family. As her children grew up and began attending school, Ruth Ann started working for Bank of Sullivan, then Cal Gas Co. She eventually went to work for Dace Insurance, where she was employed as the office manager for twenty-five years before retiring in 2010.

It wasn’t until 1997 that the Stack family moved to their home in Japan. Family was Ruth Ann’s life, and through the years, she cooked and hosted many get togethers for family and friends. She was also the family photo taker and was always capturing treasured family moments. Ruth Ann loved each of her grandkids and followed their sports and activities. She also had a special group of friends, “The Golden Girls”, whom she enjoyed spending time with. In her earlier years, Ruth Ann played the piano and gave lessons to others. In her later years, she kept in touch with many people through Facebook. She was the glue that kept her family together. Ruth Ann will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

Ruth Ann is survived by her husband, Don Stack, of Sullivan, MO; her three children: Dean Stack of Springfield, MO, Rodney “Roo” Stack of Sullivan, MO, and Sherri Wiese and husband Lane of Sullivan, MO; seven grandchildren: Alec Stack and wife Machon of Marshfield, MO, Erik Stack of Sullivan, MO, Cole Schmidt of Big Sky, MT, Luke Wiese and fiancé, Maddi Hines, Joshua Wiese, Rayna Stack and Riley Stack, all of Sullivan, MO; two great-grandchildren, Daymond Fletcher and Lincoln Wiese; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Johnson; and one brother, Ken Johnson.

Memorial Services were 11 a.m., Saturday, October 23, 2021 at New Testament Baptist Church in Sullivan, with Pastors Josh and Dave Wright officiating.

Visitation was held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, October 22, 2021 at New Testament Baptist Church in Sullivan and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, prior to the service at New Testament Baptist Church.
