Rose M. Schmidt
Rose M. Schmidt, 87, of Sullivan, Missouri passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 surrounded by her family at Life Care Center of Sullivan.
Rose Marie Isgriggs was born on October 18, 1934 in rural Bourbon to Harrison Carac and Ethel Delora (Missey) Isgriggs. She attended school, along with her many brothers and sisters, at what was then known as Coon Ridge School. Rose was employed in various factories in the area. For 20 plus years, she worked for the Sullivan School District as the Supervisor for their food service program. After retiring several times, she worked in the cafeteria of Missouri Baptist Hospital. Rose loved her family and spending time with them. She really enjoyed when the family all gathered at her home for holidays and birthday celebrations.
On June 2, 1995, Rose was united in marriage to William Schmidt, and they enjoyed 27 years together. Rose loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, playing cards, and traveling. She was especially fond of traveling to her favorite western state, Colorado. She was also an avid Cardinals Fan.
Rose is survived by her husband, William Schmidt of Sullivan, MO; four children: Gary Gargus and wife Danica of Manchester, MO, Marty Politte and significant other Sue Pouge of Bourbon, MO, Patti Carey and husband Alan of Sullivan, MO, and Becky Webb of Cuba, MO; three step-children: Betty Blankenship and husband Jack of Sullivan, MO, Dean Webb and wife Donna of Sullivan, MO, and Roger Webb of Sullivan, MO; seventeen grandchildren: Heather Mallinckrodt and husband Brandon, Brandon Gargus and wife Emily, Tammy Humphrey and husband Barry, Angie Bartle and husband Cory, Rachel Thomure and husband Nick, Amanda Mullen and husband Don, Taylor Politte and wife Victoria, Tarah Barton and husband Guy, Shane Carey and wife Kathryn, Alex Carey and wife Ashley, D.J. Dace and wife Taylor, Nathan and Joshua Dace, Micheal Solorio, Jason, Jeff, and Jamie Blankenship; a host of great and great-great grandchildren; a brother, Bill Isgriggs and wife Shirley of Sullivan, MO; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Politte; her parents, Harrison and Ethel Isgriggs; and nine siblings: Francis, Gene, Johnny, Helen, Audrey, Ellen, Thelma, Florence, and Betty.
Funeral Service was held at 2 p.m., Monday, September 26, 2022 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Matt Dudley officiating.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., Monday, prior to the service at Eaton Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Life Care Activity Fund.
