Ronald H. Harman

Ronald H. Harman, age 87, of Warsaw, Missouri passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Warsaw Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on September 23, 1936, in Steelville, Missouri, the son of Harvey Harman and Velta (Mallow) Harman.
Ron grew up in Sullivan, Missouri and graduated from Sullivan High School, class of 1955. Ron was considered the class clown in school. He excelled in basketball even at the height of five foot-seven because of his “unstoppable” hook shot. He later served in the National Guard for thirteen years.
Ron met the love of his life while he was playing guitar in the old Fashion Shoe parking lot in Sullivan. On September 19, 1955, he was united in marriage to Betty Alline Broyles. They made to home in Sullivan for forty-five years where Ron enjoyed bowling several nights a week, participating in the local CB radio club called REACT. He also volunteered for the Sullivan Fire Department.
In 2000 the moved to Rockaway Beach, Missouri and later to their home in Warsaw. Ron loved to hunt and fish. He also played the twelve-string guitar at Silver Dollar City in a band called “Homestead Pickers.”
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one of which passed in infancy, a sister and his mother and father-in-law.
Ron is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Betty Harman, three children: Debbie Tanner, and her husband Kenny, of Warsaw, Missouri, Pam Laney, of Rockaway Beach, Missouri and Ron Harman, and his wife Gretchen, of St. Louis, seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, numerous other relatives, and many friends.
Arrangements for his cremation are under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.
