Ronald D. Cecil, 77, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Ron was born on July 15, 1945 in Parma, Missouri to Jesse and Nerva (Buckley) Cecil.

Ron worked as a cab driver for Laclede Cab Company for many years and was even honored as “cab driver of the year” once.  He served as a St. Louis city deputy sheriff for 15 years before retiring in 2015. Ron also saved a man’s life who was drowning in the Mississippi. Ron moved to Sullivan in April of 2022.  He was known as an eternal jokester and always kept people laughing.

Ron loved western movies and books and wanted to volunteer to walk horses at Longmeadow (Humane Society Ranch).  Above all, Ron was a devoted family man. His health was never fully restored after having COVID-19; unfortunately, his life was cut short before he realized all his dreams.

Cremation has taken place and there are no services at this time.

Friends may share online condolences with Ron’s family at www.eatonfuneralhome.com.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Sullivan.
