Rodney Wayne Griffin

Rodney Wayne Griffin, 69, of McKenzie, TN, passed away on July 24, 2024 in Nashville, TN.
Rodney was born on January 6, 1955, in Washington, Missouri to Phillip “Sonny” and Dorothy (Haberberger) Griffin. Rodney spent his formative years in the close-knit community of Union, Missouri, and as a young man, began working at the Chrysler plant in Fenton, Missouri. He dedicated over three decades of service, retiring in 2006, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and camaraderie that resonated with his colleagues and friends.
Early in his life, Rodney was blessed with a son Daniel Wayne Griffin was born on June 8, 1976, and was the pride of his life. Soon after, Rodney accepted Christ as his Savior, forever changing the trajectory of his life. He later married Gina Simpson on April 27, 1991, and together, they enjoyed over 33 years of marriage.
The birth of his six grandchildren between 2003 and 2016 brought Rodney joy and added a new dimension of love that he cherished deeply. They were, undoubtedly, the second great pride of his life, providing continual delight with each visit and every milestone shared. In 2020, Rodney and Gina moved to McKenzie, Tennessee to be closer to their son Daniel and his family.
Rodney loved being outdoors and was passionate about hunting and fishing. He enjoyed restoring old cars, and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved his dogs, "Chester" and "Remington," and they were never far from his side.
Rodney is survived by his loving wife Gina Griffin of McKenzie, TN; his son, Daniel Griffin and wife Christina of Jackson, TN; 6 grandchildren: Caleb, Faith, Annabeth, Seth, Jacob, and Isobel; his brothers, Ronnie Griffin and wife Pam of Union, MO, and David Griffin and wife Wendy of Union, MO; his sisters; Sharon Birke and husband Norman of Beaufort, MO, Brenda Espowe of Union, MO, Susan Meyer and husband Roy of Leslie, MO, Diane Lansford and husband Dennis of Sullivan, MO, and Donna Taylor of Union, MO; one brother-in-law, John Meyer of Union, MO; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sonny and Dorothy Griffin, his sister, Linda Meyer, and his brother-in-law, Leroy Espowe.
Services will be 10 AM, Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Erik Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Midlawn Memorial Gardens in Union, MO.
Visitation will be 4 – 7 PM, Friday, August 2, 2024 at Eaton Funeral Home.
