Robert “Bob” Wymer, 90, of Sullivan, MO, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in St. James, MO.

Robert Calvin Wymer was born March 7, 1931 in Butts, MO, to Robert Troy and Elsie Clara (Gormley) Wymer. Bob attended school in Steelville, MO. He worked with his dad on the family farm until his draft in to the United States Army on January 9, 1953. While serving our country, Bob’s father passed away. On May 26, 1954, Bob was granted an honorable discharge hardship to return home to care for the family farm. For many years, Bob worked in carpentry and was an exceptional craftsman. In 1970, he purchased a water well pump business. He ran his business until his retirement in March of 1993. Throughout his life, Bob enjoyed raising and riding gaited horses. For a number of years, he shod horses for others, as well as his own horses. Through his retirement years, Bob enjoyed his woodworking shop, harvesting walnuts, trout fishing, and serving in the outreach ministry of his church.

Bob married Beatrice Center Moore on June 4, 1955. He gained a daughter, Carol Ann, when he married Bea. Their union was blessed with a son, Mark, and a daughter, Sue. Sadly, their marriage ended in divorce twenty-eight years later.

On August 27, 1990, Bob married Marian Smith. To this union, Bob gained four sons: William, Richard, Jerry and Vincent, and one daughter, Karen. Marian preceded Bob in death in November of 2013.

Bob is survived by his son, Mark Wymer and wife Donna of Cuba, MO; his daughter, Sue Koch and husband, Stan of Sullivan, MO; along with his six stepchildren: Carol Ann, Karen, Richard, Bill, Jerry and Vincent; his grandchildren: Cheyenne (Elyssa) Koch, Dustin (Kimberly) Koch, Coryell (Leah) Koch, Lando (Haley) Koch, Flint (Alyssa) Koch, Colton (Trista) Koch, and Stancie Koch (fiancé, Aaron Bell); as well as many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Vera Wymer; and special nephew, Dean Wymer and wife Georgie, who was like a younger brother to Bob and they shared a very special bond; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian; his parents, Robert and Elsie Wymer; three brothers: Howard, Clarence and Harry; and three sisters: Ava, Divita and Agnes.

Visitation for Bob was held from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m., Friday, July 23, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

Funeral Services were 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. Bob was buried in the Koch Family Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Bob’s memory may be made to the Outreach Ministry of Grace United Methodist Church in Sullivan.
