Robert H. Nye, 76, of Bourbon, MO passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Robert Howard Nye, known as Bobby by his family, was born on May 21, 1946 in Kansas City, MO. He was one of eight children born to Forrest and Cleo Helen (Sanders) Nye. Bobby honorably served his country in the United States Army and Air Force. He was drafted into the Army in 1964 during the Vietnam War and served in the Air Force in Operation Desert Storm. After 30 + years of dedicated service, he officially retired in 1997. Throughout the years, Bobby drove a truck for MFA and Haven material. He was always a hard worker and could always find something to keep him busy, which included tearing down old buildings and doing some welding.

Bobby was united in marriage to Maelma Daroy on August 28, 2005 and they were blessed with a son, Justin. Bobby loved a bargain and enjoyed going to yard sales and auctions. He was also an animal lover and a great story-teller. He will be missed by his large family and many friends.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Elma Nye of Bourbon, MO; seven children: Bobbie Hickey of Leasburg, MO, Shannon Nye of Cuba, MO, Jamie Busch and husband Rodney of Valles Mines, MO, Tracie Nye of Sullivan, MO, Keshia Feltman of Bourbon, MO, R.J. Bunton and wife Marisa of Waynesville, MO, and Justin Nye of Bourbon, MO; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; seven siblings: Ronnie Nye and wife Judy of Sullivan, MO, Donnie Nye and wife Peggy of Doe Run, MO, Mike Nye and wife Anne of St. Louis, MO, Patricia Lizotte of St. James, MO, Linda Brown of Arkansas, Sharon Babcock of Rolla, MO, and Nancy Horner and husband Rick of Hillsboro, OR; mother-in-law, Zosima Daroy of Bourbon, MO; sister-in-law, Jocelyn Polino and husband Marvin of the Philippines; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Cleo Nye; a brother-in-law, Roger Brown, his father-in-law, Samuel Daroy; and sister-in-law, Haidee Apuya.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Eddie Dunivan officiating.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, Saturday, prior to the service at Eaton Funeral Home.

Graveside Services with full military honors will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis
