Robert “Bobby” Justin Protte Jr.

Robert “Bobby” Justin Protte Jr., 66, of Sullivan, MO passed away Friday, March 4, 2022 Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan.

Robert was born September 14, 1955 in Bourbon, MO the son of Robert Sr. and Edith (West) Protte. He grew up and attended school in Leasburg, MO.  Robert married Sandra Fangers and to this union two daughters were born, Brandy & Crystal.  He later married Barb Dickhoener and together they had a son, Justin.  Robert was also father to his daughter, Cheyenne.

Robert worked many years for Independence Sawmill in Cuba, MO.  Throughout his lifetime, he was also employed with Meramec Shoe Co. as well as E & L Construction.  He later retired in 2000.  Robert enjoyed watching television, especially professional wrestling. He also enjoyed fishing and loved his dog, Kenzie. Most important to him was time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Robert is survived by his daughters: Brandy Protte (Jason Waters) of Sullivan, Crystal Chapman (Barry Kennedy) and Cheyenne Protte both of Rolla, MO and Justin Protte (Tasha Schuster) of Cuba; eight grandchildren:  Austin Alexander, Tiffany Zwetow, Destinie Conaway, Renee Chapman, Devon Watring, Danny Schuster, Sophia & Bentley Protte, Kiara Schuster, Amari Beck, A’Dora Taylor and Alaina Omeni; six great grandchildren:  Caydence, Brantley, Kayden, Briar, Adalyn, & Bexley; four brothers: Bill Mallow of Kileen, TX, Roger Protte and his wife, Peggy and Gary Protte and his wife, Stephanie all of Leasburg and Stanley Protte of Bourbon; two sisters, Betty Stotler and Peggy Gargus; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James Mallow and Kevin Protte.

Cremation will take place with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
