Robert “Bob” R. Walker

Robert “Bob” R. Walker, 74, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Missouri Baptist Hospital - Sullivan.

Robert Ray Walker, known as Bob to his family and friends, was born April 29, 1947 in Union, MO to Ray and Ethel (Thompson) Walker. He grew up and attended school in Union, but went to work at an early age and eventually obtained his GED. Bob married the love of his life, Yvonne “Bonnie” Heady on February 1, 1964 and to their union two sons were born, Robert and Darren. They resided near Sullivan at their place on Hwy JJ to raise their family. Through the years, Bob was employed by Wagner Electric, Pea Ridge Mines and Hussmann Refrigeration. He retired from Trade Co. in 2008. 

In his younger years, Bob enjoyed camping with his family and coaching baseball. He and Bonnie loved to travel together. Music was also a big part of Bob’s life. He especially loved singing and playing guitar. Bob also enjoyed hunting and bass fishing. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family and friends.

Robert is survived by his wife, Bonnie Walker, of Sullivan; two sons, Robert C. Walker and wife Frances and Darren Walker and wife Denise, all of Sullivan; four grandchildren: Brittany Alexander and husband Travis of Sullivan, Ryne Walker of St. Louis, MO, Samuel Walker and Chase Walker, both of Sullivan; five great-grandchildren: Noah, Sawyer, Emma, Logan and Moleah; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Ethel; and one brother, Butch Walker.

Funeral Services was 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Stanton, with Pastor Paul Niemoeller officiating. Interment followed in Stanton Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

Memorial contributions in Robert’s memory may be made to First Baptist Church of Stanton.
