Rita Ann Horstmann
Rita Ann Horstmann, 93, of Owensville, Mo., passed away Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, at Stonebridge Living Center in Owensville.
She was born Dec. 9, 1929, to Joseph and Mary (Jonas) Piezuch in Owensville.
She was united in marriage, April 7, 1951, to Calvin Oscar Horstmann at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville.
Rita was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Our Lady's Sodality and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, reading and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Piezuch; husband, Calvin; infant son, David; sister, Phyllis Meyer and sister-in-law, Alice Piezuch.
She is survived by daughters, Barbara Davidson and husband Tom of Webster Groves, Brenda McKinney and husband Rodney, Jane Horstmann, Judy Glaser and husband Daryl all of Owensville and Laura Randolph and husband Don of Sullivan; brother, Richard Piezuch of Paola, Kansas; brother-in-law, Bob Meyer of Versailles; and grandchildren, Margaret Davidson of Kansas City, Kansas, Joseph Davidson and wife Polly of St. Louis, Anna Jones and husband Zach of Portland, Oregon, Ty McKinney and wife Hannah, Shay McKinney and wife Stephanie and Claire Ellis and husband Cody all of Owensville, Hallie Glaser of Jefferson City, Libby Glaser of Springfield, Taylor Randolph of St. Charles, Carter Randolph of Elsberry, Kate Randolph of Columbia and Emma Randolph of Sullivan; and great-grandchildren, Eloise, Otto and Fritz Jones, Enid Davidson, Rhett, Asa and Sutton McKinney, Zoe and Lucas McKinney, Ruby Ellis and one great-grandchild on the way, along with many other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, Sept. 7. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville with Fr. Philip Kane and Fr. James Finder officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
