Peggy A. Lane, age 71, of Leasburg, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at her home.

Peggy was born May 22, 1951, to David and Betty (Herke) Carter in Evansville, Indiana. During Peggy’s childhood, her dad, mom, and seven siblings moved to Missouri. She attended Lafayette High School and in 1980 married Alan Lane. Shortly afterwards they moved to the Sullivan area. They were blessed with two children, Becky and Brad. Peggy spent most of her career in the food service industry.

Peggy loved to travel especially with Alan or her sisters. She was also an avid bingo player and was always ready to “go to the boat” to play penny slots.  She had a passion for cooking and loved baking desserts. The family was always around her table for Sunday lunch; she made sure to prepare enough food to feed an army. Above all, Peggy loved her grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  She would be sure to attend any sporting or school event they were involved in. Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed and very lovingly remembered.

Peggy is survived by her two children: Becky Elias of Sullivan, and Brad Lane and wife, Mindy of Bourbon, MO; six grandchildren: Gary, Bryan, Jesse, Alyssa, Brandon, and Victoria; three great-grandchildren: Hailey, Nicole and Hunter; five sisters: Dava Dotzenrod and husband, Neil of Ballwin, MO, Rhonda Dewitt and husband, Rusty of Madisonville, KY, Jeanie Farmer and husband, Charlie of St. Clair, MO, Gerri Ezell and husband, Kevin of Madisonville, KY, and Diana Allen of Madisonville, KY; a brother, George Carter; a brother-in-law, Joel Lindley and many other relatives and friends.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Alan, infant son Joshua, her parents, and one sister, Susan Lindley.
