Patricia A. King, 74, of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Life Care Center of Sullivan, surrounded by her family.

Patricia Ann King was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on December 4, 1947 to Doyle and Marene (Rains) Shaw. She grew up in Times Beach, MO and attended school in Eureka, MO. A fond memory that she always loved to share was of her school class raising enough funds to purchase two elk to be released into Lone Elk Park to accompany the one and only elk that resided there.

Pat was united in marriage to Leon King on August 6, 1966 in Times Beach. Shortly after marrying, they moved to Indianapolis, and were eventually blessed with three children: Karen, Sharon, and Scott. Soon after Scott was born, they relocated their family to Sullivan, Missouri to make it their final home. A fun trip that they would often take as a family was when they would start their day off at the Saint Louis Zoo, then have a picnic lunch in Forest Park, and end the day at the Saint Louis Art Museum.

Pat was a devoted employee of Meramec Industries from which she retired after 25+ years. While working for Meramec Industries, she also became a Union officer. Later in life, Pat went back to school and completed several of her general studies at East Central College. She was a faithful and active member of Temple Baptist Church. Pat served within her church in many different ways; however, Vacation Bible School was her favorite. Pat truly exemplified the love of Christ.

Pat was known as one of the sweetest people you could meet. She was always compassionate and had a kind word for you. No matter the circumstance, she always found the good in each and every person. Above all, she was a faithful wife and a devoted mother. She will be so dearly missed and lovingly remembered by many.

Pat is survived by her loving husband, Leon King of Sullivan, MO; three children: Karen King of Saint Louis, MO, Sharon King of Saint Louis, MO and Scott King of New Haven, MO; ten grandchildren: Karter, Nancy, Kelly, Jayde, Dylan, Olivia, Riley, Kelsey, Seth, & Elizabeth; five sisters: Judy Barlow and husband JB of Barnhart, MO, Mary Planalp and husband Robert of Greenwood, IN, Kay Shaw of Carnesville, GA, Barbara Goodman and husband Paul of Arnold, MO, and Carol Livesay and husband John of Marion AR; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Doyle and Marene; and three brothers: Ronald, Les, and Richard Shaw.

Cremation arrangements have taken place. A Remembrance Memorial Service was 12 p.m., Friday, July 8, 2022 at the Eaton Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Perry officiating.

Visitation was 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., Friday, prior to the service at Eaton Funeral Home.
