Patricia Elaine Young

Patricia Elaine Young, 66, affectionately known as Patty, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 22, 2024, near St. James, MO. Born on December 31, 1957 in Sullivan, MO, Patty was a beacon of kindness and friendliness, whose spirited nature touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Patty's early years were spent in House Springs, MO, where she grew up and attended school. She graduated from Northwest High School in 1975, a place where she made lifelong friends and memories. Her journey through life took her to various places, including St. Louis, High Ridge, Times Beach, and eventually Bourbon, where she planted her roots and nurtured her life’s passions.
Patty's work life was as diverse and rich as her personal interests. She spent many years serving the community as a beloved waitress in local restaurants, where her warm smile became a familiar comfort to many. Patty's dedication and hard work led her to a long tenure with Scotch Diecast, where she honed her skills and eventually became an esteemed inspector. Before her well-deserved retirement, she worked for Walmart for 11 years, where she continued to exhibit her trademark dedication and warmth.
Patty and Kevin were blessed with a son, Bryan. She beamed with pride over having him in their life--they loved him immensely. Patty glowed with love when she spoke of him and often put him first in everything, before her own needs--as she did for everyone. Bryan was her own ray of sunshine and she cherished every moment with him.
Patty and Kevin's life together was filled with shared passions and adventures. They were passionate about spending time on the river, where they could be found boating and fishing, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Patty's love for travel saw the couple exploring various destinations, from the majestic landscapes of Colorado to the natural wonders of Elephant Rocks, Johnson Shut-ins, and the state parks of Missouri, where they admired God's beauty together.
Car rides with Kevin were among Patty's cherished moments, as were the times she spent meeting new people, a testament to her love for social connection. Her home was a haven for animals, and her kindness extended to all living creatures. Patty's hobbies included baking and sewing, crafts through which she expressed her creativity and love for making others happy. She also enjoyed watching Cardinals baseball, Chiefs football, and NASCAR, all pastimes that brought excitement and joy into her home.
Above all, Patty's faith was a cornerstone in her life, guiding her through every challenge and triumph with unwavering grace. It was this faith that infused her every action with kindness and gave her the strength to be the friendly, spirited, and unwavering soul she was known to be.
Patty's legacy is one of love, compassion, and joy. She lived her life with a kind heart, always ready to lend a hand or share a moment of laughter. Her spirit, a blend of resilience and gentle grace, will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to have known her.
