Pat A. Bunton, 72, of Leasburg, Missouri passed away peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Barnes Jewish Hospital surrounded by her family.

Patricia Ann Bunton was born August 4, 1950 to Lytle and Virda (Smith) George in Sullivan, Missouri. She grew up and attended grade school in Sullivan, later transferring and graduating from Bourbon High School in 1968. Shortly thereafter, Pat was united in marriage to Robert Nye in 1971.  Unfortunately, after 20 years of marriage they were later divorced. Later Pat was united in marriage to Elvin Bunton on July 31, 1997 and they shared countless, treasured memories together. Elvin sadly passed away in 2002.

She later in life took photography classes for pleasure at East Central College in Union alongside her sister, Kim. Pat also worked several jobs locally, but excelled most at providing care to residents at the Ridgeway Residential Care Home. She retired from Ridgeway in the early 2000’s after spending over 16 years there.

Pat was blessed with eight children: Bobbie, Shannon, Keshia, RJ, Tracie, Jamie, Amber and Brent. Family was everything to Pat. She was always such a supportive mother, grandmother and great-grand mother who never missed an opportunity to express her pride in them. In her spare time, she loved to sew, sing, write stories, go to yard sales, tend to her gardens and can what she had harvested. She also enjoyed spending time with her sisters, Linda and Kim. They always referred to themselves as the “Three Musketeers”.

Pat’s faith in Jesus was so dear to her heart. She loved people with genuine love. She will be so dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

Pat is survived by her eight children: RJ Bunton and wife Marisa of Waynesville, MO, Brent Bunton of Sullivan, MO, Bobbie Hickey of Leasburg, MO, Shannon Nye of Cuba, MO, Jamie Busch and husband Rodney of Valles Mines, MO, Tracie Nye of Sullivan, MO, Keshia Feltman and husband Melvin of Bourbon, MO and Amber Hickman and husband Gary of Cuba, MO; 18 grandchildren; 8 great – grandchildren; three brothers: Donald “Donnie” George of Camdenton, MO, David George and wife Mary Ann of Bourbon, MO and Wayne Wepner and wife Betty of Bourbon, MO; three sisters: Wilma Pratt of the Waynesville, MO area, Linda King and husband Jim of Leasburg, MO and Kim Bell and husband Jimmy of Bourbon, MO; a special friend and companion, David George; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin; her parents; a sister-in-law, Sharon; and a brother-in-law, Don.

Funeral Service will be 12 PM, Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. Interment will follow at the IOOF Cemetery in Sullivan.

Visitation will be 10 AM to 12 PM, Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the Eaton Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.

Due to Pat’s personal health battles she would be honored in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Organ Transplant Association.
