Norma E. Renick, a beloved matriarch known for her kind, generous, and thoughtful spirit, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on July 23, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Washington, MO. Born on February 6, 1937, in Onida, SD, Norma lived a life full of love, service, and devotion to her family and community.

The daughter of Fred and Hattie (Landwehr) Luecke, Norma's family relocated to Sullivan, MO, in 1943, where she grew up and received her education. She attended Sullivan High School, graduating in 1955. During her school years, Norma was an active member of the sextette, mixed chorus, and girls glee club, showcasing her love for music and community involvement.

On August 6, 1955, Norma married the love of her life, Kenneth Renick, at Holy Martyrs Church in Japan, MO. The couple initially resided in Maplewood before moving back to Sullivan to raise their family. Norma's dedication to her family was evident in her role as a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. The couple was blessed with three children, Glenda, Gail, and Garrel, who brought immense joy to their lives.

Norma took great pride in her community, serving as an election judge for many years. She was a member of St. Anthony Church and Choir, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #3987, contributing her time and talents to these organizations. Norma's love for her family extended beyond her immediate household as she meticulously worked on genealogy books, tracing and documenting her family's rich history.

A lover of the outdoors, Norma was an avid worker in her yard, taking pleasure in the beauty and tranquility it offered. She had a soft spot for old-time country music and dancing, often losing herself in the rhythm and melodies. However, what meant the most to Norma was taking care of her home and family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. The love they shared and the precious memories they created will be cherished forever.

Norma is survived by her children, Glenda Schroeder and her husband, Ray of Washington, MO, and Dr. Garrel Renick of Columbia, MO; two granddaughters, Dr. Shannon Holt and her husband, Adam, and Stacey Binder and her husband, Quintin, all of Washington, MO; five precious great-grandchildren: Morgan, Emalee, Landon, William, and Katherine; a sister, Freida Loher of Webster Groves, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny; a son, Gail and his wife, Dawn; her parents, Fred and Hattie Luecke; her parents-in-law, Albert and Geraldine Renick; two sisters, Lelia "Lil" Halmich and Vera Strothcamp; and a nephew, David Strothcamp.

A Funeral Mass will take place 10:00 AM, Friday, July 28, 2023 at St. Anthony Church with Father Paul Telken officiating.  Burial will follow at Holy Martyrs Cemetery, Japan, MO.
