Michael G. Wheeler, 61, of Bourbon, MO, passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 1, 2021, at his home.

Michael Guy Wheeler was born October 12, 1959, in St. Louis, MO, to Orbie G. and Josephine L. (Schmidt) Wheeler. He was the eldest of six brothers. Mike proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He worked jobs that varied from construction, to being a bail bondsman, with driving an over the road truck composing most of his career.

Mike enjoyed being outdoors hunting, riding his ATV, and horses. He had recently exploring wood working. Mike also loved traveling and seeing the natural beauty of our country. He particularly loved the openness of Montana and requested to have some of his remains placed there.

Mike was the kind of man who never met a stranger and was always quick with a joke. He saw his family as his most valuable possessions and loved them dearly. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mike is survived by his wife, Lisa Wheeler, of Bourbon, MO; his three children: John Reichert and wife, Sara, of St. Genevieve, MO, Robert Reichert of Dupo, IL, and Lisa Frances Wheeler-Norris of Kissimmee, FL; his mother, Josephine Wheeler, of St. Louis, MO; five brothers: Joseph Wheeler and wife, Sharon, of St. Louis, MO, Jefferey Wheeler of St. Louis, MO, Timothy Wheeler and wife, Nicole, of Columbia, IL, Bill Wheeler and wife, Michele, of St. Louis, MO, and Daniel Wheeler and wife, Stephanie, of St. Louis, MO; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Orbie Wheeler.

Funeral services will be held 7 p.m., Thursday, May 13, 2021, at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Pastor Duncan Skiles officiating. Cremation arrangements will take place following the service.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, prior to the service at Eaton Funeral Home.
