Mason Evans Griffith, 34, of Rosebud, Mo., passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Hermann Area District Hospital.

 

He was born March 1, 1989, to David and Fern (Spicer) Griffith in St. Louis.

 

He was united in marriage to Jennifer Koepke Dec. 31, 2011, in Rosebud.

 

Mason was Chief of Police of Rosebud Police Dept. and Detective Sergeant of Hermann Police Dept. and Reserve Deputy of Gasconade County Sheriff's Dept.  He was a member of Zion Church of Bland and the Gerald-Rosebud Fire Dept.

 

He knew that he wanted to be a police officer from age 12.  He joined the Bourbon Police Explorers in 2001 and was also a Boy Scout.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, kayaking and anything outdoors.  

 

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer of their home; sons, Trevor Griffith and Karson Griffith of the home; mother, Fern Griffith and friend Tom Lawson of Bourbon; father, David Griffith of the Philippines; parents-in-law, Gary and Angela Koepke of Gerald; brother-in-law, Nickolas Koepke of Gerald; and sisters-in-law, Gina Koepke and friend, Shelby Koepke and Autumn Gordon all of Gerald.

 

Visitation will be Sunday, March 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Owensville High School.

 

Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the High School with Pastor Keith Morrison officiating.  Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Rosebud.

 

Memorials requested for family's choice.
