Mary A. Tyree
Mary A. Tyree, 85 of Sullivan, MO passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Life Care Center in Sullivan, MO with her family by her side.
Mary, known as Aunt Mary to all who knew and loved her, was born on December 8, 1937 in St. James, MO to Antone Benjamin (Andy)and Helen Anna (Hammer) Sherman. Mary attended and graduated from Sullivan High School class of 1956. She was married to Cecil Hager on June 19, 1970. After just one year of marriage Cecil passed as the result of an electrical accident.
Mary later married Billy R. Tyree, Sr. on September 1, 1984 and they enjoyed many years together before Bill passed away in 2006. Mary was a 38- year employee of Pacer in Washington, MO. After Pacer closed its doors, Mary went to work at Life Care Center, cooking for the residents for several years. Mary was a good Christian woman, who served the Lord wherever she was needed. She taught Sunday School to the kindergartener class for over 20 years. She loved her family, church family and many friends and will be remembered as a kind, loving and witty person.
Mary is survived by her sister, Betty Dazey of Sullivan, MO; niece, Andrea Holland and husband Jeff; nephew, Andy Dazey all of Sullivan, MO; great-nieces and nephews, Jordan Holland, Lydia Cuneio and husband D.J., Benjamin Holland and wife Jessica of Steelville, MO; grandchildren, Callee Marshall and husband John and Blaine Tyree; special friend Don Brown of Sullivan, MO.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Helen Sherman, two husbands, Cecil Hager and Billy Tyree, Sr.; brother-in-law, Ernie Dazey.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 2, 2023 at First Assembly of God in Sullivan, MO with Pastor Benjamin Holland and Pastor Kyle Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Schmidt Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on Thursday, at First Assembly of God.
