Mary S. Bailey, 59, of Leasburg, MO, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Missouri Baptist Hospital – Sullivan.

Mary Susan (Fritz) Bailey was born in Columbia, MO, October 18, 1961, to the late Virgil H. and Opal P. (Crow) Fritz. She grew up and attended and graduated from Sullivan High School, Class of 1980. Mary then went on to attend East Central College and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. While raising her three children, Larry, Kristy and Tim, Mary worked as a housekeeper for local motels, as well as Casey’s General Store in Cuba, MO, for many years. In fact, Mary was employed by Casey’s all the way up until her illness in 2019.

On March 6, 1999, Mary married Michael Bailey and together they had one son, Tim. Michael officially became a stepfather to Larry and Kristy. Mary loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also loved fishing, camping and road trips. She also enjoyed playing games, such as Yahtzee, Spades, and many others. Mary will be lovingly remembered and missed by her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her husband, Michael Bailey, of Leasburg, MO; her three children: Larry Zieres of Leasburg, MO, Kristy Miller of Cuba, MO, and Tim Miller and fiancé, Tera Vaughn, of Leasburg, MO; six grandchildren: Luke West, Aurora Cramer, Phoenix Cramer, Brian Zieres, Hunter Zieres and Lucas Vaughn; three sisters: Patty Fritz of St. Louis, MO, Virginia Templeton of Edgar Springs, MO, and Dianne Schlaitzer and husband, Russell, of Sullivan, MO; one brother, Rick Fritz, of Sullivan, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two of her grandchildren: Summer Miller and Killian Miller; her parents, Virgil and Opal Fritz; one sister, Bertha Jamison; and one brother, Riley Fritz, as well as three infant brothers.

Funeral Services were held 12 Noon, Monday, March 15, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Tina Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow in Bourbon Cemetery.

Visitation was held 10 a.m. to 12 Noon, Monday, prior to the service at Eaton Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions in Mary’s memory may be made to the Cancer and Infusion Center at Missouri Baptist Hospital Sullivan.
