Mary F. Harms, 75, of Sullivan, MO passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan.

Mary Frances was born on January 8, 1947 in St. Louis, MO to Homer Emmer and Nellie Bernice (Ferris) Payne. She grew up in the Lead Belt area and graduated high school in 1965. Mary was united in marriage to Henry Harms on June 29, 1968 and they were blessed with 54 years of marriage and five children. They raised their children in Sullivan where they made their home. Mary really enjoyed caring for children and even owned and operated her own daycare, the Purple Cow, for ten years. Mary loved her family, the Christmas holiday, and her dogs. Through the years, she and Henry had Saint Bernard’s, Great Pyrenees, Newfoundland’s, and Mini Aussie’s. Mary was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her husband, Henry Harms of Sullivan, MO; five children: Vincent Harms and wife Misty of Salem, MO, Jerry Harms and wife Michelle of Gerald, MO, Homer Harms and wife Yvonne of Sullivan, MO, Mary Catherine Schoonveld and husband Dave of Bourbon, MO, and Miranda Ellis and husband Kraig of Bourbon, MO; eighteen grandchildren: Cory Gargus, Autumn Carner, Veronica Harms, Vincent Harms, Jr. (Bud), Jeremy Harms, Marissa Harms, Austin Harms, Olivia Harms, Jesse Harms, Kristian Harms, Ray Schoonveld, Ethan Schoonveld, Elizabeth Schoonveld, Evie Schoonveld, Maggie Ellis, Henry Ellis, Jack Ellis, and a special granddaughter, Mary Beth Connelly and husband Aaron; fourteen great-grandchildren: Amberlin, Chloe and Starlene Connelly, Aiden, Isaac and Elijah Tarpley, Amber and Ezekiel Gargus, Hunter, Madeleine and Amelia Carner, David, JR and Ava Schoonveld; two sisters, Scherryl Floyd of Dawson, Texas and Geraldine Martin of De Soto, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Bernice Payne; and one brother, Jerry Payne.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Sullivan with Father Paul Telken and Father Tim Henderson celebrating. Interment will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9 – 11 AM, Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
