Mary Carlyne Gibson, of Sullivan, MO, passed away peacefully at her home on her 90th birthday, March 10, 2022. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born in Reyno, Arkansas, on March 10, 1932, to the late Daily Levi and Anna Catherine (Rhodes) Dodd. She was raised in Arkansas until the age of 13, when her family moved to St. Louis. Mary attended Grant Junior High and McKinley High School. On October 6, 1951, Mary was united in marriage to Russell Gibson and together they were blessed with three children: Rick, Vicki and Terrence. The Gibson family made their home in Maryland Heights.

Mary was employed by Wetterau, which owned IGA Grocery Stores, where she worked in the accounting department for many years. She retired in 1997. In 1987, Russell and Mary moved to rural Sullivan, where they purchased a run- down cabin that they made into a home for their family. Mary was a wonderful artist; she painted many murals and other works of art in her home. She also painted portraits of people and pets. Mary was a good Christian women and had a deep abiding faith in God. She will be missed by her family.

Mary is survived by her children: Rick Gibson of Laporte, CO, Vicki Meyer of Imperial, MO and Terrence Gibson of Sullivan, MO; six grandchildren: Michael and Ryan Gibson, Matthew and Aaron Meyer, David and Rob Gibson; two great-grandchildren, Trinity and Luke Gibson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Gibson; her parents, Daily and Anna; one brother, Dale Dodd; and one sister, Maxine Adams.

Cremation arrangements have taken place. There will be no services at this time.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Sullivan.
