Marilyn Lorraine Beanblossom

Marilyn Lorraine Beanblossom was escorted by angels to the arms of her Savior on March 20, 2022. Her parents, John Fred Schmitt  and his wife Josephine Eleanor Schmitt (nee Lenz) welcomed her into the world on January 10, 1940 to join her other 10 siblings. She passed away at St. John’s Mercy Hospital Washington at the age of 82 years old.

She received her education at St. Francis Borgia.

She was united in marriage to Gordon Edward Beanblossom and to this union two sons were born Nicholas Charles and Dennis Patrick. They were married several years and then later divorced.

In 1970, Marilyn was employed at Pacer Industries for 22-1/2 years where she met Gary Koelling. Marilyn and Gary were sweethearts and life mates for 47 years. Together they were complete and enjoyed spoiling each other. Being deeply devoted to each other they shared many adventures and whatever life sent their way together. For them they had a perfect love. At the Grand Ole Opry Marilyn had persuaded Loretta Lynn to come back across the stage while performing just for Marilyn to take a picture. Marilyn was thrilled.

She was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings, Armin Schmitt, Walter Schmitt, Jim Schmitt, Jack Schmitt, Ruth Blackwell, Bernice Stallmann, Joan Patke, and Shirley Marquart.

Among her survivors are her children: Dennis Beanblossom of Washington, Nicholas Beanblossom of Washington, step daughter Suzie Manhart and husband John of Labadie; two sisters Theola Kandlbinder of Washington and Evelyn Kamler of Washington; grandchildren, Dennis Beanblossom, Brandy Beanblossom, Nicholas Beanblossom,  and Heather Gist and husband Dan; two step grandchildren Christopher Manhart, and Aimee Maune and husband Adam; great grandchildren, Daniel Beanblossom, Ayden Beanblossom, Karly Beanblossom,  Kieran Brendel, Chandler Carroll, Oliver Gist, four step great grandchildren, Mason Maune, Claire Maune, Chase Manhart and Caeli Manhart and  her life mate, Gary Koelling of Union, other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday March 25, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home.

Funeral mass was held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Borgia Church. Interment was in the Dutch Hill Cemetery. Funeral meal followed Interment at 1 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Dutch Hill Cemetery fund or St. Jude’s Hospital.
