Margaret Lillanne Richardson

Margaret Lillanne Richardson, lovingly known as Margaret, passed away at the age of 61 on May 24, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, Missouri. Born on August 16, 1962, in Joliet, Illinois, Margaret's early years were spent in the town of her birth before moving to Sullivan, where she continued her education and later established her life's foundation.
On a beautiful winter's day, December 24, 1979, Margaret married her love, Mike Richardson. Their union was blessed with three sons, Kellis, Michael, and Jason, whom she raised with unwavering dedication and love on their family place at Pea Ridge. Margaret's life was a testament to her relentless spirit and nurturing heart, as she balanced her role as a devoted mother with her work life.
After the boys were grown, it was in her role as a caregiver that Margaret truly found her calling. She began work for LifeCare Center in Sullivan where she started in housekeeping and eventually became Director of Activities, always prioritizing the well-being of her patients. Her passion for helping others led her to a fulfilling career in home health, providing in-home care to those in need, touching the lives of many with her compassion and empathy.
A member of Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, Margaret's faith was a cornerstone of her existence and it was evident in the way she cared for her family and those around her.
Margaret's zest for life was contagious. She cherished every moment spent with her family, especially supporting her grandchildren in their various activities. An avid lover of swimming and soaking up the sunshine, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Margaret's routine of tanning, and getting her hair and nails done, was not just about looking her best but also about feeling her best.
Music filled Margaret's home and heart, as she often sang in the choir. Her love for "spooky" movies and television classics like M*A*S*H provided endless entertainment and comfort. Margaret's affection for her dogs was profound, and they, in turn, provided her with companionship and unconditional love.
Margaret was extremely proud of her three sons, particularly of their service in the military. Her pride in their achievements was a source of great joy and fulfillment for her. Known for her kindness and courage, Margaret was a caring person who consistently put others before herself. She faced many challenges in her lifetime, but her persistence and resilience saw her through each one, always emerging with grace and strength.
