Linda S. Blankenship, 76, of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 1, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.

Linda Sue Blankenship was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on November 14, 1945 to John and Elizabeth (Best) Uram. She grew up and attended school in Arizona, Saint Louis, and Sullivan before going to work at an early age.

Linda was united in marriage to Gene Blankenship on May 23, 1964. To this union they were blessed with four children: Patrick, Michael, Wayne, and Anna. They raised their family in the Sullivan area while Linda worked for Midwest Shoe for just a short time.

Linda was a phenomenal baker and cook. She not only baked many wedding cakes for friends and family in the Sullivan area, but went as far as to cater entire wedding and graduation parties. She was also a self-taught furniture upholsterer. Linda enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and especially family float trips. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Linda was a faithful member of the Holy Martyrs of Japan Catholic Church.

She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Gene Blankenship of Sullivan, MO; four children: Patrick Blankenship and wife Pam of Sullivan, MO, Michael Blankenship and wife Tricia of Sullivan, MO, Wayne Blankenship and wife Christy of Leslie, MO, and Anna Sadler and significant other Bing Cook of Sullivan, MO; twelve grandchildren: John Breen and wife Jackie, Vanessa Breen and significant other Shane Nolan, Brittany Breen, Addie Kilburn and husband Matt, Emmie Blankenship, Kobie Blankenship and significant other Sierra Spornhauer, Christopher Blankenship, Kerrick Miller, Ashlyn Blankenship, Brayden Blankenship, Alisha Morgan and fiancé Brandon Baker, and Amber Rusu and husband Andrew; eleven great–grandchildren: Olivia, Mason, Eliza, Braxton, Blake, Owen, Paisley, Peyton, Donavan, Taylor, and Ryan; many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters: Lillian Hall, June Williams, Margaret Dixon, Eva Baggio, and Mary Casey; and a brother, Michael Uram.

Funeral Mass was 11 a.m., Friday, August 5, 2022 at the Holy Martyrs of Japan Catholic Church. Interment followed in the Holy Martyrs of Japan Cemetery.

Visitation was 4-8 p.m., Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
