Linda R. Pickett, 80, of Bourbon, Missouri passed away peacefully on May 7, 2023, in Sullivan, MO at Life

Care Center of Sullivan.

Linda Ruth Pickett was born on September 26, 1942, in Louisville, KY, to Willie and Ruth (Singleton)

Hunt. She began her education at Washington Grade School in Granite City, IL, where she also attended

Central High School. It was in high school that she met the love of her life, Wayne Pickett. They married

on February 20, 1960, when Linda was just 17 years old. Together, they were blessed with two children,

Malinda and Timmy, and raised their family in Granite City, IL. Throughout her life, Linda worked various

factory jobs, but her heart was always in being a mother and homemaker.

Linda and Wayne, along with their children, spent many weekends enjoying the outdoors fishing,

swimming and camping on the Huzzah River. Eventually, they decided to relocate their family to

Steelville, MO, to live right on the Huzzah. Linda loved hosting gatherings and parties while living there,

creating cherished memories with her family and friends.

Later in life, they sold their home on the river and moved in with their granddaughter Miranda, first to

Anthonies Mill and then to the Falloon Farm. Over those 23 years, Linda became a full-time homemaker

and baby sat her great grandchildren while spoiling them. She always said one of her greatest blessings

was being able to spend time with her great grandchildren every day.

A talented cook, Linda always prepared several course meals, ensuring that no one ever left her table

hungry. Linda also enjoyed tending to her garden and shopping every chance she had.

Linda will be remembered for her devotion, love, and compassion. Family was everything to Linda, and

she made sure that those around her felt her love and care. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all

who knew her, but her memory will live on in the love and warmth she shared with her family and

friends.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Wayne Pickett; two children, Tim Pickett of Steelville,

MO and Malinda Roberts and husband Timothy of Cuba, MO; two grandchildren, Miranda Falloon and

husband Adam of Bourbon, MO and James Pickett and fiancé Kayla Pyle of Sullivan, MO; two great-

grandchildren, Caitlin McKellips and Chase Falloon of Bourbon, MO; and two sisters, Wanda Knowlton

and husband Tiff of Bourbon, MO and Sandy Murray of Granite City, IL.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Ruth; a brother, Randy Hunt; a sister, Debbie

Bishop; and numerous in-laws.
