Kenneth D. Gargus, 65, of Rolla, MO, passed away on May 9, 2023, in Rolla, MO.

Kenny Dwayne Gargus was born September 20, 1957 to Chester and Jenny Gargus in Sullivan, MO. Growing up in Spring Bluff, Kenny attended grade school at the Spring Bluff School District and later attending Sullivan High School. After school, he went to work for Borg Warner as a machine operator. He later would enlist in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served his country. Following his time in the military, Kenny continued to serve in the reserves while working various jobs.

Kenny eventually joined his brother Ron in the logging business, where they worked side by side for several years. Later, he became a taxi driver, primarily serving the Rolla and Fort Leonard Wood areas. Kenny's friendly nature and dedication to his work made him a beloved figure in the community.

Throughout his life, Kenny had a passion for fishing and could often be found with a line in the water, enjoying nature. He had a knack for tinkering with things, especially motors and engines, and was always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. Kenny was an avid reader of science fiction, losing himself in the imaginative worlds created by his favorite authors.

Kenny had a deep appreciation for classic rock and southern rock. The Eagles and Lynyrd Skynyrd were just a couple of his favorite bands. Kenny's friends were like family to him, and he treasured the bonds he formed with those closest to him.

Kenny had a playful side and loved to tease and aggravate his nieces and nephews, but he also had a tender spot for them and would do anything to make them smile.

Kenny is survived by his sister, Janet Byers of Sullivan, MO; four brothers: Dan Gargus and wife Julie of Leasburg, MO, Dave Gargus and wife Charlotte of Bourbon, MO, Ron Gargus and wife Leigh Ann of Bourbon, MO, and Scott Gargus and wife Lori of Owensville, MO. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a multitude of friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, paternal grandparents Earl and Edna Gargus, maternal grandparents, Charles and Elvie King; and a brother in infancy.
