Katherine ‘Joan’ Adams

Katherine “Joan” Adams, 79, of Leslie, MO, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, August 29, 2021.
Joan was born on May 7, 1942 in Spring Bluff, MO, to James Edgar Frederick and Katherine Lucinda (DeClue) Goodman. She grew up and attended country school in Spring Bluff. Her family then moved to St. Louis for some time, where Joan attended Roosevelt High School prior to her family returning to the Spring Bluff area.
Joan was united in marriage to Richard “Bud” Stanley Adams on June 15, 1962 at First Baptist Church of Sullivan. Together, they were blessed with two daughters, Tamara and Shelia. Joan was able to stay at home and care for and raise their girls. She loved children and baby sat for many families in the area. Joan also ran the Spring Bluff store for several years. She loved gardening, crafts, and shopping with her girls. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her family and friends.
Joan is survived by her husband, Bud Adams, of Spring Bluff, MO; two daughters, Tamara Rose of Spring Bluff, MO, and Shelia Shelton and husband, Edward, of Stanton, MO; eight grandchildren: Cody Gerschefske of Rosebud, MO, Jacob Schatz and fiancée, Jackie Hudson, of Kansas City, MO, Dylan Schatz, Katherine Chaney Rose, both of Spring Bluff, MO, Melissa Reed, Tina Turner, Nicole Shelton and Michael Shelton and wife, Casey, all of Sullivan, MO; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, Ray Goodman and wife, Shirley, of Spring Bluff, MO; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Goodman and Ann Goodman, both of Sullivan, MO; numerous nieces and nephews, other extended relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Katie Goodman; and three brothers: Alden, Gene and Noel Goodman.
Funeral Services were 6 p.m., Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Pastor Fred Banderman officiating. Cremation arrangements will follow. Graveside Services were held 11 a.m., Friday, September 3, 2021 in New Cave Spring Cemetery – Sullivan.
Visitation was held from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m., Thursday, prior to the service at Eaton Funeral Home.
