Julia Pearl Duncan, 86, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully at Jefferson City Manor on Friday, October 1, 2021. She was born on April 6, 1935 in Washington County to the late Willis and Pearl (Schoonover) Brown. She was united in marriage on December 30, 1973 to Stanley Duncan, who survives of the home.

Julia was a hair dresser for the majority of her life, and owned and operated Julie’s Family Hair Affair for years. She enjoyed photography and flower gardening, and was a talented seamstress. She loved her family and time spent with them, and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years: Stanley; son: Greg Holloway of Borrego Springs, California; daughters: Bonnie Witt (Sam) of Sullivan, Mary King of Brazoria, Texas, Sheri Kollenberg (Lewis) of Russellville, Pam Buersmeyer (Rod) of Jefferson City, and Patti Graven of Jefferson City; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by one infant daughter: Lisa Luanne Holloway; one grandson: Patrick Garrett Witt; brother: Floyd Brown; sister: Martha Studdard; and infant sister: Della Brown.

Friends were received from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Concord Baptist Church. Funeral services began at 10:30 a.m. with Bro. Monte Shinkle officiating. A committal service was held at 2:30 p.m. at Ozark Memorial Gardens in Rolla.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
