Junita “Kay” Tune, 72, of Sullivan, MO, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Missouri Baptist Hospital – Sullivan.

Juanita Kay Tune was born on November 10, 1949 to Robert and Jeanette (Copeland) Moss. She grew up attending grade school in Spring Bluff and then eventually transferred to Sullivan High School.

Kay was soon united in marriage to Andy Blankenship in the summer of 1968. To this union they were blessed with three children: Renee, Gene & Shane. Together they continued to raise their family in Spring Bluff, while Kay was employed by Meramec Group for 30+ years. Sadly, they later divorced.

Later in life, Kay met Ed Tune and they were united in marriage. They shared many memories camping in their travel trailer and traveling to Arkansas to their favorite spot, Beaver Lake.

Kay enjoyed spending time outdoors mushroom hunting, metal detecting, and fishing. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching them compete in sports. Kay will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by many.

Kay is survived by her two sons, Gene Blankenship of Sullivan, MO & Shane Blankenship and fiancé Jessica of Sullivan, MO; a daughter, Renee Blunkall and husband Dustin of Sullivan, MO; eight grandchildren: Ashton Williamson, Jarren Blankenship, Payton Sherman, Gabrielle Sherman, Kyle Blankenship, Mariah Blankenship, Jason Blankenship and Justin Blankenship; four great-grandchildren: Sawyer Williamson, Juniper Williamson, Harper Blankenship and Reaghan Blankenship; two step-grandchildren: Hailey & Bailey Herbert; a brother, Bill Moss and wife Diane of Sullivan; two sisters, Bobby Sue Emert and husband Dennis and Patty Schoeneman and husband Bill of Saint Clair, MO; her beloved pup, Lily; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Tune; her parents, Robert and Jeanette; and beloved pups, Max & Phoebe.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Spring Bluff Retreat Center.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. – 11 a.m., Saturday, prior to the service at Spring Bluff Retreat Center.
