Joseph Mann, Jr.

Joseph Charles Mann, Jr., 83, of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.

Joseph was born on August 2, 1937 in St. Louis, MO, to Joseph Charles Mann, Sr. and Esther (Cleary) Mann. He was a longtime resident of St. Louis. At age 19, Joseph enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served as a Navy Petty Officer for four years. Joe moved to California in the 1960’s, where he eventually met Dorothy Davidson. They were united in marriage in 1967 and were later blessed with their son, Joseph Mann III. Sadly, their marriage later ended in divorce.

Joseph was very intrigued by agriculture and aquaculture and even studied these subjects at Mt. Shasta College in California. In 1999, Joseph moved to Sullivan, MO, where he resided up until his passing.

Joseph was united in marriage to his second wife, Mildred “Millie” Evins, on July 22, 2006, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Sullivan.

Joseph was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman and enjoyed singing and song writing. He was a devout Catholic who sang in Choir for most of his life. Joseph will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family and friends.

Joseph is survived by his son, Joseph Mann III and wife Danielle of Alpharetta, GA; two grandsons, Johnathan Mann and Michael Mann, both of Alpharetta, GA; a sister, Janet Keller of St. Louis, MO; a brother, Henry Mann of St. Louis, MO; nieces & nephews: Jeff Keller, Robin Barlow, Gail Keller, Mike Mann, Dan Mann and Kim Mann; other extended relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Millie; and his parents, Joseph and Esther Mann Sr.

Funeral Mass was 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Sullivan, with Father Tim Henderson officiating. Interment followed in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
