John James Williams, 80, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Life Care Center of Sullivan.

John was born in Dixon, MO, on February 4, 1942, to Milton Wayne and Velma (Pentolton) Williams. John honorably served his country in the United States Army from October 29, 1960 to October 21, 1963. He married Helen Strauser, and together they had two children, Lori and Tyson.

Through the years, John was employed by Sullivan P.D., the Pea Ridge Mines for a short time, and he worked alongside Chip Strauser in the welding business.

John is survived by his two children, Lori Williams of Columbia, MO and Tyson Williams of Sullivan, MO; one granddaughter, Samantha Bass of Columbia, MO; two great-grandchildren, Dizziey Martinez and Drelyn Beckham; four sisters: Margaret Murphy, Judy Davis, Cindy Machelett, and Carolyn Martin; other extended relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Strauser; and his parents, Milton and Velma.

Graveside Services were 11 a.m., Monday, May 9, 2022 at Reedville Cemetery, with Pastor Chester Lahmann officiating.
