Jo Ann Christine Crider passed away peacefully in Sullivan, Missouri, on January 23, 2024.  Born on April 20, 1965, Jo Ann's life was a testament to devotion, compassion, and the joy of simple pleasures.

A proud graduate of Sullivan High School's class of 1983, Jo Ann's pursuit of knowledge led her to East Central College for Secretarial School. Her love of learning continued as she returned to school for phlebotomy, a field where she excelled in bringing comfort to those in her care. Professionally, Jo Ann dedicated her talents to a local doctor's office and various positions within the community.

In 1992, Jo Ann met her soulmate, William (Dale) Crider. The following year, on April 15, they married. Their union was a partnership of love and laughter, and together they raised Jo Ann’s beloved daughter, Kathy in Cuba, Missouri. Working for Gamma Healthcare, she enjoyed traveling throughout the region, and she touched many lives.

Jo Ann cherished her time playing Bingo, mastering puzzles, coloring, and indulging in her love for cooking and survival shows. She lived briefly in Branson, savoring the beauty of the Ozarks.

Above all, Jo Ann was devoted to her family, and holidays were truly amazing when everyone could be together. Her love for her grandson, William, was a fierce and "stern love" that only a grandmother of great depth could offer. She was undoubtedly the "boss," a matriarch whose absence will be felt deeply by all who knew her. Her memories will be cherished, and her legacy of love will continue to inspire.

Jo Ann is survived by her husband, William (Dale) Crider of Bourbon, Missouri; a daughter, Kathy DeWitt of Bourbon, Missouri; step-children: Garth Hurst and wife, Susan and family of Ozark, Missouri, Shiela Donner and husband, Larry and family of Bourbon, Missouri, B’liz Faulkner and husband, Kenny and family of Cuba, Missouri, and Billy Crider and family of Steelville, Missouri; and a beloved grandson, William Gable II of Bourbon, Missouri; a brother, Kevin Ziegler and wife Heather of Leasburg, Missouri; sisters, Patty Evans and Carol Fricks, both of Sullivan, Missouri; her bingo buddy, Cheryl Palmer, and lifelong friends, Janet MCendree and Wendi Guehne, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Jo Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Elizabeth Ziegler, and a sister, Bonnie Carnelison.

Arrangements for cremation have taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Friends may send their online condolences to Jo Ann’s family at www.eatonfuneralhome.com

Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Jude’s Children Research Hospital.

All arrangements are under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
