Jeffrey Eddie Busch
Jeffrey E. Busch, 67, of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, January 26, 2024.
Jeffrey Eddie Busch was born on January 25, 1957 to the late Eddie Gene and Carole Ruth (King) Busch. He grew up and attended school in Sullivan, Missouri and was a proud graduate of the class of 1975. As a young boy, Jeff spent all the time he could outdoors and loved to be alongside his family on the farm. He accepted the Lord and was a baptized member of the New Testament Baptist Church where he served by driving the Sunday School bus. He later would move his membership to the Evergreen Baptist Church. Jeff was united in marriage to the love of his life, Catherine Cornman on June 1, 1982.
Jeff was in Demolays as a teen and a member of the Sullivan Lodge as an adult. He also served as a volunteer firefighter for many years on the Sullivan Volunteer Fire Dept; also serving as fire chief for a short term. Jeff’s community service furthered while serving as a reserve on the Sullivan Police Department. Jeff was a lifetime member of the Local One Electrical Workers Union where he embarked on a successful 25 year career until his health forced him to retire in 2001. Here he made many lasting friendships. After retirement, he served on the Sullivan Board of Alderman and continued serving the community he dearly loved.
Jeff lived for hunting, fishing and making trips to Canada and Florida with his family, co-workers and friends. Jeff had many fond memories hunting with his friend, Darrell and fishing alongside his cousin, Dale.
Above all, Jeff was a devoted husband to Cathy. Together they were able to make many trips during their 45 years of marriage and see much of the US as well as being sure to visit family along the way. Jeff and Cathy spent many years traveling to Branson and Saint Pete’s, Florida! Jeff made sure to always find a good fishing spot while they were there. He will be so dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Busch of Sullivan, Missouri; two brothers, Kelly Busch and wife Tamara of Waunakee, WI and Eric Busch of Sullivan, Missouri; special nieces and nephews, Sydney, Megan, Chase, Brock, Claire, Cindyanne, Mike and Dustin; in laws, David and Ann Cornman of Sullivan, Missouri; sister in law, Cindy Miller of Sullivan, Missouri; Paul Cornman and wife Sheilan of Saint James, Missouri; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Gene and Carole Ruth Busch; and a great nephew, Gavin Cornman.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
