James “Jim” Tripp, 78, of Bourbon, Missouri went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 23, 2022.  He left this earthly world the way that he had hoped for, outside at his home working in the warm sunshine.

James Eugene Tripp was born October 8, 1943, to Elijah and Gladys (Sitze) Tripp.  Jim grew up and attended school in Fredricktown, MO. Immediately after high school, Jim joined the United States Air Force where he honorably served our country from 1960 - 1964.  He had a great love for our country and was very proud to be able to be of service to it. Upon being discharged from the Air Force, Jim began his career at the Chrysler Automotive Plant in Fenton, Missouri where he worked and made many friends until his retirement in 1994.

He was united in Marriage to the love of his life Bonnie Sue Bunton on March 11, 1977.  To this union a son, John, was born and was welcomed home by Jim and Sue’s children from previous marriages. Maryann, Karen, Leslie, Angie, and Jimmy.  He and Sue worked to instill a love of Jesus, love for others, and a good work ethic in all of them.

After his retirement, not being one for sitting around and being gifted with the ability to fix about anything, he worked in Sullivan as a maintenance man for several businesses. He worked these jobs all while being a caretaker for 20+ properties at Anthonies Mill until 2020 when his body would no longer allow him to do the work.

Jim accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1980.  He attended and served God in various positions at New Testament Baptist Church and for the past 25 years at Meramec Valley Baptist Church.  Jim loved Jesus!  He never missed an opportunity to share the Gospel with anyone he met.

You could always spot Jim out in an older Dodge truck with his grandson Johnathon as his sidekick along with a couple rottweilers. He will be so dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Sue Tripp of Bourbon, MO; children: Maryanne Nelson and husband Kenneth of Tennessee, Leslie Anderson of Bourbon, MO, Angie Parker and husband David of Catawissa, MO, James W.
