Iven Kyle Montgomery, 78, of Bourbon, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 26, 2022.

Iven was born in rural Arkansas on July 24, 1943 to J.T. and Carrie Montgomery. He grew up and attended school in rural Arkansas and later in life was blessed with nine children: Kevin, Nathan, Dewayne, Jennifer, Stephanie, Tracie, Angie, Frances, and Mable.

Iven impacted many lives in the states of Arkansas and Missouri while pastoring a total of six churches. In 2006, Iven was united in marriage to Mary Holiday on July 14. Together they enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, and camping on the Meramec, four-wheeling, and spending time with family at BBQ’s.

Iven had a passion for preaching the gospel to anyone that would receive it. He also loved to spend time horseback riding and even training horses for clients. From a very young age, Iven was given the nickname “Cowboy”. He will be so dearly missed and lovingly remembered by many.

Iven is survived by his loving wife, Mary, of Bourbon, MO; nine children: Kevin Montgomery and wife Diane of Ravenden Springs, AR, Nathan Montgomery of Piedmont, MO, DeWayne Montgomery and wife Lilly of Pocahontas, AR, Jennifer Bailey and husband Ronnie of Ravenden Springs, AR, Stephanie Midcalf and husband Craig of Ravenden Springs, AR, Tracie Huighe and husband Tom of Steelville, MO, Frances Pringle of Corning, AR, Mable Tilley of Pocahontas, AR, and Angie Hill of Rector, AR; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Joetta Evers of Rector, AR and Wiley Nixon and husband Kenneth of MacDougal, AR; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Orville “Tom”, Harvey, Johnce “Buddy”, and Herman; and nine sisters: Lucille, Amy, Erma, Christine, Jeanette, Delita, Irene, Regina, and Frances.

Graveside Services were held at  2 p.m., on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at the Buffalo Cemetery in Sullivan with Pastor John Blackmore officiating.

Visitation was held from 1 - 2  p.m., on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
