Howard “Bud” E. Baugh, 76, of Spring Bluff, MO passed away at his home on Sunday, September 18, 2022.

Howard Eugene Baugh, known as Bud, was born on December 20, 1945 in Middletown, MO to Robert Alderson and Roberta May (Nutter) Baugh. He grew up and attended school near Middletown and graduated from Wellsville High School, class of 1963. Bud took his first line job at age 18 and spent his entire career as a journeyman lineman. As of this past year, he attained 55 years in the IBEW. Bud was very passionate about his work and loved training new apprentices.

Bud married the love of his life, Carolyn Sue Hampton, and he cherished the 16+ years that he spent with her. He simply loved his life with Carolyn. They enjoyed their home, sitting on their porch visiting with friends and neighbors, and observing numerous wildlife and nature around the house. Bud also cherished the times when he would just sit on his porch and talk to God.

Bud loved his antique tractors, fast cars and boats, welding and making equipment and machinery better, tinkering, and camp fires and weenie roasts. He was a wonderful friend to many.

Bud is survived by his wife, Carolyn Baugh of Spring Bluff; three children: Steven Baugh and wife Julie of Delta Junction, AK, Jill Swarthout of Trussville, AL, and Lorri Grimsley and husband Steve of Brookfield, MO; one brother, David Baugh of Stonewall, OK; two sisters, Judy Hunter and husband Orville Jr. of Olathe, KS and Donna Chambers and husband Clyde of Nashville, TN; as well as eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, other extended family, many friends, and the Local #2 Brotherhood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Roberta Baugh; one brother, Mark Baugh; one grandson, Mason Swarthout; and his mother-in-law, Iola Stewart.

A Celebration of Bud’s Life was held at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Living Word Church in Leasburg, with Pastor Dan Morrison officiating.

Visitation was  held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service at the Living Word Church.

Memorial contributions in Bud’s memory may be given to The American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or the Salvation Army.
