Harold “Harry” S. Hoffman, 88, of Union, passed away, Sunday, January 2, 2022, in Washington.

On May 31, 1933, Harry was born to the union of Theodore Hoffman and Viola (Schoenberger) in Evansville, Illinois.

Harry was united in marriage to Carol Sue (Lochhead), August 5, 1961, at the catholic church in Carbondale, Illinois.

He worked in construction as a concrete finisher for 36 years. 

Harry was a member of the Eagles in Sullivan for 28 years as well as Laborers Local 840 in Rolla, Missouri.

He enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. He was a talented musician and could play the guitar, banjo, fiddle and the dobro. Harry also enjoyed being a ho-down square dance caller. Most of all Harry loved spending time with his loving family and friends.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Viola Hoffman; sister, Shirley Null; brother-in-law, Karl Beierschmitt.

 He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carol Sue Hoffman of Union; two daughters, Patricia Paulus and husband Steve of Illinois and Sheri Freeman of Hawaii; one son, Mark Hoffman and wife Jill of St. Louis; sister, Margaret Beierschmitt of California; grandchildren, Danelle Morris, Nicole Buck, Mark Hoffman Jr., Brooklyn Hoffman, Jennifer Pearson, Kelley Prather and Jaiden Freeman; great-grandchildren, Shaena Buck, Kyrae Buck, Laela Buck, Kaelie Buck, Carter Hoffman, Cam Hoffman, Hailey Pearson, Avery Pearson, Olivia Prather, Owen Prather, Nyjah Buck, Legend Buck; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Evansville, IL.
