Gregory A. Potter, 73, of Saint Clair, Missouri, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024, at his home.

Gregory Arlon Potter was born November 20, 1950, to Arlon and Florence (Perri) Potter in Detroit, Michigan. Greg grew up in Fenton, Missouri, after his family relocated from Michigan and attended school within the Northwest School District. At the age of 18, he began a career at Chrysler that would span an impressive 30 years. Greg retired in 1998, leaving behind a legacy of respect and admiration among his colleagues.

Greg's heart belonged to his family. He married the love of his life, Sandra Tilley, on November 17, 1973, and together they embarked on a journey of love, laughter, and the joy of raising a family. Together they blended their family and were blessed with four children: Jeanie, Naomi, Jason and Gabriel. Greg was a pillar of strength and support, raising their family in Saint Clair, Missouri, where they created a home filled with warmth and cherished memories.

In retirement, Greg became an active volunteer for Service International, where he contributed to the cleanup and rebuilding efforts after natural disasters. His work in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans was particularly notable. Greg did not hesitate to roll up his sleeves, whether it was rebuilding homes, engaging in construction work, or leading other volunteers. His selflessness and ability to inspire others made a lasting impact on the communities he served.

Greg took great pleasure in spending time on his property, often seen driving his lawnmower or working on his beloved John Deere tractor. His hands were rarely idle, as he also enjoyed woodworking and leatherwork.

But above all, Greg adored his grandchildren. They were the joy of his life, and being a grandpa was his top priority. He cherished every moment spent with them, from sleepovers to birthday celebrations, ensuring that each grandchild felt special and loved. He will be dearly missed and very lovingly remembered.

Greg is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Potter of Saint Clair, Missouri; two sons: Jason Potter and wife Kara of Union, Missouri, and Gabriel Potter of Saint Clair, Missouri; two daughters: Naomi Potter of Maryland and Jeanie Holmes of Creal, IL; ten grandchildren: Erik, Nikolai, Sawyer, Kadien, Kaylee, Berlyn, Gavin, Brittany, Whitney and Ashton; a great grandson, Alexander Gregory Potter; and a sister, Phyllis Sondag of Fenton, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Dakota Potter; and his parents, Arlon and Florence.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
