Greg A. Schmidt
Greg A. Schmidt, 63, of Sullivan, MO, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Missouri Baptist Hospital – Sullivan.
Gregory Allen was born in Sullivan, MO, January 17, 1958, to Byron and Kathryn (Higgins) Schmidt. He grew up in various towns in Missouri, and went to work as a painter as a young man. For many years, Greg was employed in the Painters Union, from which he retired in 2016. Greg married Tammie Helton on April 8, 1978, and to this union their daughter, Alecia, was born. Greg loved being outdoors, whether he was fishing, hunting or boating. He also enjoyed listening to music, especially classic rock. The Beatles were his favorite.
Greg is survived by his daughter, Alecia Maurer and husband, Anthony, of Sullivan, MO; three grandchildren: Hayden McBride, Johnathan Martin and Alli Martin, all of Sullivan, MO; one great-grandchild, Kendall McBride; two brothers, Keith Schmidt and wife, Jackie, of Leasburg, MO, and Todd Schmidt of Potosi, MO; one sister, Julie Giuliani and husband, Todd, of Sullivan, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron Schmidt and Kathryn (Higgins) Landing.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be 6 p.m., Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the Sullivan Eagles Nest Shooting House – 1000 Acid Mine Road, Sullivan, MO.
All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Sullivan.
