Gayle L. Brewer, 70 of Sullivan, Missouri passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 at Meramec Nursing Center surrounded by her family.

Gayle was born on January 27, 1953 in Bourbon, MO to Raymond and Naomi (Willhite) Hamm. She attended and graduated from Sullivan High School class of 1971. Gayle was united in marriage to James Brewer on August 22, 1986 in Sullivan and they enjoyed 37 wonderful years together. Jim and Gayle started their life together in Fort Hood, Texas where Jim was serving his country. Gayle was surrounded by a loving community of fellow military wives and acclimated well. They would remain in Texas until 2011 when they returned to Sullivan to be near family. While in Texas, Gayle was employed at Sears in the hardware department. When she returned to Sullivan, she went to work for Walmart in the jewelry department.

Gayle accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. She was a long -time member of First Assembly of God in Sullivan where she served as Sunday School Secretary and Missionette teacher, specifically the Daisey’s. Her students loved her.  While living in Coppers Cove, Texas, she and Jim attended Calvary Assembly.

Gayle enjoyed knitting, cross stitch and crocheting. She was very loved by her husband Jim, her sister Kay and was very close to her niece and nephew, Dana and Doug. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Gayle is survived by her husband, James Brewer; her sister, Kay Cuneio and husband Larry all of Sullivan, MO; niece and nephew, Dana Tutterrow and husband Stacy of Sullivan, Doug Cuneio and wife Amy of Wildwood, MO; step-daughter, Jamie Shinneman of Oregon; great-nieces and nephews, Zoe and Mia Cuneio, Ian, Sydney and Adam Tutterrow; other relatives and many friends.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Naomi Hamm; and one great-niece Shelby Tutterrow.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Friday, January 5, 2024 at First Assembly of God in Sullivan with Pastor Kyle Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, Friday, at First Assembly of God.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to First Assembly of God in Sullivan.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.
