Gary James Davis,77, of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2023, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan. Born on November 17, 1945, in Cadet, MO, he lived a life full of adventure, laughter, and creativity.

 

Gary spent his early years in St. Louis, Missouri, where he attended school and developed a lifelong love of learning. Gary was a man of many talents, from his early days as a mechanic and selling automotive parts, to his later years as a painter. His creativity shone through in his work, and he took great pride in painting both residential and commercial properties in the St. Louis area.

 

In his younger years, Gary served our country in the US Navy. He demonstrated his dedication and love for his country, and his service was a significant part of his identity. Gary was married to Debbie Williams, and their union brought about the birth of their son, Jeff.

 

Gary was a man of adventure, spending time living in different states such as California and Texas, before returning to Missouri. In 2014, he moved to Sullivan to care for his aging parents, Albert and Lillian Sellers. His love for his family was evident in his actions, and his dedication to his family was a testament to his character.

 

Music was a significant part of Gary's life. He loved playing the guitar and singing, often performing in many clubs throughout the years. His passion for music was infectious, and he enjoyed sharing this love with others. His sense of humor was well-known, often leaving others in stitches with his witty remarks and funny stories.

 

Gary was a father to his two sons, Jeff Davis and his wife, Rebekah of Sachse, TX, and Brian Davis of California; his precious granddaughter, Lillian Emily Davis; his siblings, Randy Davis of Peevely, MO, and Tina Frezell of Las Vegas, NV, along with his numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

 

Gary was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather Lillian and Albert Sellers; and his father, Gene Davis.

 

Services will be 12:00 PM Noon, Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at the Eaton Funeral Home of Sullivan with Pastor John Blackmore officiating.  Burial will follow at Lakewood Park Cemetery in Affton, MO.

 

Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at the Eaton Funeral Home prior to the service.
