Garrett Michael Ryan, 30, of Sullivan, Missouri, tragically passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, in Sullivan, Missouri. 

Garrett Michael Ryan was born on October 28, 1993, to Nicholas Ryan and Alana (Mastin) Ryan in Washington, Missouri. He grew up and attended grade school in Sullivan, before moving to the Cuba School District during his middle school years. It was there that Garrett discovered his passion for football.

Garrett's love for the sport continued to thrive at Sullivan High School, where he was not only a dedicated player but also became involved in weight lifting. His commitment and team spirit were evident on and off the field; always taking the opportunity to encourage his teammates. In 2012, Garrett proudly graduated from Sullivan High School. 

After graduation, Garrett chose to stay close to his roots, working various local jobs in the Sullivan area. His most recent employment was at King Machine in Bourbon, a job he cherished and excelled in. 

Garrett found happiness in the outdoors. He was happiest when by the river, around a campfire, or setting off fireworks. His love for his family was boundless. Garrett was so very proud of becoming an uncle and coining the nickname, “Uncle G.”  Garrett's natural gift for cooking was another of his many talents. He created the famous French Toast at Clark Street Café. 

Garrett's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He attended services at The Ridge Church of Sullivan. His passion for studying the Bible was profound, and he possessed a unique insight and understanding of scripture. Garrett also enjoyed attending small group Bible studies allowing him to form connections with fellow believers. 

Those who knew Garrett will remember his sweet heart, the best hugs, the way his eyes could light up any room and his smile, with its special sparkle. Garrett was a true friend to many, always ready to share hope and witness to his friends, even during his own struggles. He loved people for who they were and met them where they were in life, always putting others before himself. To say Garrett will be missed is an understatement.

He is survived by his loving and devoted mother, Alana Ryan of Sullivan, Missouri; his father, Nicholas Ryan of Sullivan, Missouri; three sisters: Mahala Mastin – Hayes and husband Zack of Ballwin, Missouri, Haley Ryan and fiancé Ty Misner of Owensville, Missouri, and Emmi Ryan of Sullivan, Missouri; a brother, Jordan Ryan of Saint Louis, Missouri; two beloved nephews, Rory Michael White and Tate Caden Misner; his grandparents: Alan Mastin, Shirley DeBeaux, Danny Ryan, Karen Kincaid all of Sullivan, Missouri and Randy Bess of Cuba, Missouri; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Betty and Mike Ryan, Denise Bess, Jim and Elsie Manion and Milford and Imogene Mastin. 

Funeral Services will be 5 PM, Saturday, August 17, 2024, at The Ridge Church of Sullivan with Pastor Matt Dudley officiating. 

Visitation will be 2 – 5 PM, Saturday, August 17, 2024, at The Ridge Church of Sullivan, prior to the funeral service.
